All furniture requires maintenance, that is why Chair Imports have created a range of Product Care Guides to ensure your new furniture will look new for many years to come.

European Beech Timber
  • Remove any liquid spills or stains immediately
  • For tougher spills or stains, clean with an extremely mild detergent and lightly damp cloth
  • Ensure to completely dry the surface immediately
  • Never use harsh or abrasive cleaning products as this will affect the timber and finish
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, salt air or moisture as this may cause warping and cracks
  • Ensure the timber is not placed near air conditioners or heating units
  • Regular dusting and wiping down with a soft lint free cloth is recommended
  • Ensure timber is dry at all times with no wet or damp items hung over timber products
  • Avoid contact with hard or sharp objects as this may cause scratching
 
Fabrics

  • Treat spills or stains immediately with warm water and mild detergent
  • Professional cleaning is recommended regularly and for removal of tough stains
  • Ensure to remove upholstered panels prior to professional cleaning
 
Vinyl

  • Wipe spills and stains with a dry lint-free cloth promptly
  • If required, clean the affected area with a soft cloth using a non-abrasive cleaner and wipe dry
 
Techno-Polymer & Polypropylene
  • Clean with a lint-free cloth and warm water
  • If required, use a mild detergent and warm water for harder to clean spills
  • Wipe up any spilt liquids immediately 
  • Never use harsh and abrasive cleaning chemicals
  • Avoid contact with hard or sharp objects as this may cause scratching
  • Do not expose directly to high heat sources or flames
 
Chrome
  • Remove spills or spills promptly
  • Regularly wipe down with a damp cloth
  • For stubborn marks, use warm water and a mild detergent
  • Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots and rust
 
Stainless Steel
  • Regularly dust and wipe down with a damp cloth
  • Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots
  • Wipe parallel to the steel “grain” direction
  • Avoid harsh and abrasive chemicals as this will break down the protective coating and may cause scratching
 
Aluminium
  • Wipe up spills or stains immediately
  • Clean regularly with a clean lint-free cloth and warm water
  • For tougher spills, use warm water and a mild detergent
  • Keep dry to avoid water streaks
 
Cast-Iron
  • Keep out of the elements to prevent rust
  • Regularly wipe down with a damp cloth
  • Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaning chemicals
  • Dry immediately after cleaning
 
Compact Laminate
  • Do not place hot objects directly on the surface.
  • Avoid wax and polish as this will damage the natural shine.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning products, scouring pads, abrasive papers, solvents, thinners, turpentine, bleach or acetone as this will damage the surface.
  • Do not cut directly on the surface.
  • Wipe any spills immediately with a damp cloth.
  • For tough stains, use a mild all-purpose cleaner.
  • Regularly wipe gently with a clean, dry cloth to bring back the brightness of the colour.
  • To minimise scratching, place and lift objects from the surface – Do not drag or slide across the surface.
